  About

The 1st National Plenary on Health and Migration promoted an unprecedented mobilization in the country. There were almost 400 participations of migrants, health professionals and managers, researchers, academics and activists mobilizing to debate the difficulties of access to health by migrants residing in Brazil. 94 organizations from the five regions of the country participated in the process, and, in the end, 172 proposals were approved aiming at improving the conditions of access to healthcare for the migrant population residing in Brazil.

Now, it is time for us to make this mobilization permanent, also taking care that the proposals are implemented in practice. It is in this context that the National Front for the Health of Migrants - FENAMI emerges. It is divided into three axes of action:

  1. Advocacy axis , responsible for dialoguing with the Public Power and representatives of the three administrative spheres, acting locally, regionally and nationally, in order to forward the approved proposals.

  2. Monitoring, research and inspection axis , responsible for implementing and conducting the Migration and Health Observatory, building the first data repository on the subject in Brazil.

  3. Mobilization Axis , responsible for mobilizing migrants, organizations and other interested parties, organizing dissemination events on the topic and for building the next Plenary, scheduled for 2023.
